Installing PT3: Postgres Install Failing

It gets 80% done and it comes up with a message 'Failed to run INITDB: 1.....'' and it auto uninstalls.

What should I do?

Make sure you download Beta 30.9 and not Build 5.2. Beta 30.9 will download an updated version of postgres that should install properly for you.

If that doesn't work please see our Postgress Uninstall/Reinstall Guide for manual instructions.

New beta didnt work.

We followed all of the steps in the Manual/Install with the latest postgres version and we get the same error

''Servie postgresql databse server 8.3 failed to start, verify that you have sufficient privelages to start system services''

The manual install pdf says if it fails there are 2 reasons

1) you are not on an admin account

we are I confirmed this

2) We didnt delete the last user properly

we def did.

It says to contact support if we did both of these right, so I dont get it.

I am trying to set this up for a friend btw

Please schedule a remote assistance session where someone can logon to your computer with you and directly troubleshoot/resolve the issue.

It was for my friend.

I ended up just formatting/reinstalling windows (he needed it anyway) and it worked fine after that.
