When to use TREAT AS

Hi, I was under the impression that the HUD display options: TREAT AS: 6 max, 2 max and normal; were no longer used. Is that so?
If these options are still being used, can you explain how and when they would be used. Also, are these treat as options used in conjunction with the
Import/preferences option: Adjust Qualifying Table Limits?

I guess I am confused as to how to use these two options.

Adjust Qualifying Table Limits automatically uses the Treat As options when they are available. The Treat As options are used on certain poker rooms which do not clarify for certain the number of players at the table - PT3 uses its best guess as to how many players are at the table and adjusts the limit accordingly. Otherwise on these sites the tables will all be considered to be full ring.

..so for instance if you have Adjust Qualifying Tables Limits turned on and are playing at a 10 seat table with 6 active players the hands may be imported as 6-max, and therefore the HUD might use the wrong layout. You could then use "Treat As .. Normal" to switch to the correct layout.
