Hey, I just added the M stat to my hud, as u prob know, and had to change a cpl settings...
Bare with me please.
I previously had the filter set to not display hud stats for players with < a significant sample, so I obv had to change that if I wanted M to show from hand #1... In doing this I realized I also prob needed to change the cache to update every hand instead of every 5 as I had it prior. Then I start loading up some tables to see if it was working . I only got about 4 tables up when my pc started "working very hard." The fan kicked on high and the bottom of my laptop got pretty hot. In short: began overheating.
I checked the task manager (which I do not know much about) and it appeared to be using a ton of resources, memory, etc.
I was worried about how hot it was getting. So I literally sat out of my tables and shut down my pc for a few min to cool.
After restart I now have 6 tables and have been playing a while without PT3 running and the problem hasn't recurred.
I'm not a pc expert by ANY means, but it seems that the addition of that stat caused this. I was afraid to restart PT3 because I can't "afford" to sit out again. (just in case obv)
So my actual questions are:
Am I right?
I don't know enough about pc's to know exactly what mine is capable of handling , so to speak. I play on my Vaio laptop.
It was expensive and "nice" about 2yrs ago, but will this stat be too much abuse for my pc than it's worth?
Has anyone else had similar issues?
I didn't even use the browser...but w/ FTP's memory hog, crap software, and my software like Table ninja, this...
am I asking for trouble?
Any input is greatly appreciated! TYVM
