Okay, I've recently downloaded the trial and I'm impressed with all the features offered with PT3.I have a few questions about how the data is displayed and what some of these features actually do.

It is my understanding that a group is simply a group of stat settings that are displayed based on profiles, and profiles are selected/based upon the type of tourney you're profile is set for? Is this correct?

Are profiles simply the type of group displayed, or do they only pull hand histories for statistics based on the game type? That's what I'm after. For example, say I want a profile for super turbo tournaments, turbo tournaments, regular tournaments and a different one for 9man sngs. Since the play in Super Turbos is a lot different than turbo tourney's, I only want PokerTracker to pull stats/hand histories from the same type of tournament. For super turbos, I only want to look at hand history data from super turbos. Make sense? Is this what profiles do? (if not, is this possible?)

Also, I was just playing two tournaments, but the data displayed for myself was different. VPIP, AF, # of hand histories etc. was different. What is this based on? PT shows data based on HHs collected from ALL HHs, right?

When you play in any game be it a tournament or cash game, your own stats on that table are displayed from that game only. In this way you can see what others think of your play based on what you have done at that table. Your opponents stats will be displayed from the lifetime of data collected on them.

Profiles are collections of groups as you have correctly surmised. Different profiles can contain different groups containing different statistics in different locations. This allows you to have a lot of customization by game - you can set one profile to display by default on 6-max cash games and a different one for full ring cash games. You can limit the hands that PT3 looks at on the Hud Options tab - however there is not currently the possibility to limit by tournament type. Now that we have the new tournament tagging system though, features like this will hopefully be forthcoming before too long.

I'm sure the developers appreciate that this (failure to segregate tourney data in the HUD) is perhaps the greatest shortcoming of PT3, and HEM for that matter. Please ensure sufficient fires are stoked under the developers so that their focus is not distracted by petty cash game trivialities. kthxbye.
