CAN PT3 READ UNPLAYED BOARDS??????

Postby Silversag » Sun Oct 31, 2010 8:02 am

Yesterday I played this hand:

Everest - $0.25 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

BB: $8.35
UTG: $10.30
UTG+1: $24.43
MP: $40.80
MP+1: $12.37
LP: $37.43
CO: $23.55
Hero (BTN): $48.60
SB: $23.20

SB posts SB $0.15, BB posts BB $0.25

Pre Flop: ($0.40) Hero has T:spade: 9:club:

fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, CO raises to $0.90, fold, fold, fold

Common hand you might say, nothing special, we encounter thousands like this every day, then CO showed his pocket 88 before
mucking, which is unusual, but still fine, but THEN a very strange thing happened:

Even though THERE WAS NO FLOP, PT3 showed FULL 5-CARD BOARD after the hand

Can you explain how is this working and why? Because, the way I see it, if PT3 can "see" the whole board without it being actually played, maybe
it can "see" it BEFORE the hand as well :?: :?: :?: If it can I would like this feature to be introduced. I would be happy to pay extra for that!!!

I am really looking forward to reasonable explanation of this...

p.s. btw for some reason formatted hand doest show winners cards, even though they ARE in hand history and hand replay... :?: :?: :?:

That's very odd - and almost certainly an error in the way that PT3 read the hand. We don't get any information that you do not get from the hand histories. Please attach the original hand history in question to a support ticket so that we can investigate what caused this error and get it fixed for future releases.

That's exactly what I thought - very odd  I wanted to printscreen too, but you know how it works when you have short time to react - I missed
the right key...

I think that this was triggered by CO showing the cards, which does not usually happen pre-flop, but... where did PT3 got the 5 board cards from!?

I don't know - if you send us the hand history in question, we can work to reproduce the problem on our end and try to figure it out. Since this hasn't been reported previously, I don't know what would cause this behavior.

Please send us that hand history as well then - the more hands we can collect that cause this behavior the easier it will be to figure out what is triggering it.

Today it happened again and I managed to get a screenshot too, so you know that I am not making things up or seeing stuff that is not there :D . I am posting it here, because I did not get reply from your Customer Support. I have attached a hand history as well. As you can see, this time hand history doesn't even show the pocket pair he did not muck.

So far I have noticed it happening only when everyone folds pre-flop and winner shows his cards. My guess is (I have some coding background)
that this is not a PT3 fault, but more likely a glitch in Everest software, which lets to see the board when the hand is, in fact, over.

I think I should send this to them as well...

surely this is just the HUD showing the previous hand details???

No online software can tell you what the board will be until it is dealt card by card.... furthermore, after the flop is dealt, the RNG keeps spinning until the turn is ready to be dealt.... so how could it know what the full 5 card board could be at this stage!

That's my guess, but without looking at the entire session of hands I couldn't say. PT3 has literally no way to get information from the site other than what is written in the hand histories so the information has to come from there somehow.
