Manual tourney import - Buy-in = FPP, what to fill in?

Postby Omitson » Sat Feb 05, 2011 9:08 am

I'm importing results manually that I played in previous days when I didn't have PT3 running or played on a pc without PT3.

Now I'm wondering what to fill in as a buy-in and rake when the buy-in used was FPPs.

What I'd do if it were me is to pick a value for the FPPs and enter the buyin based on the value I assign. For example, if you're Supernova and can access their best bonus I believe the value is .016/FPP, from which you can calculate the tournament's real entry cost to you (since you could save up and get the bonus instead).

That's a good way to do. Most of these FPP tournaments go back to 2007 and 2008 though. I'm pretty sure they didn't have the cash bonuses back then.
In a way it would be unrealistic to count those FPP's in money.

I always played poker casually back then, never hitting silverstar or higher.
With the current 2500FPP for $25 that would mean $0,01/FPP. I guess I'll just apply those rates to my buy-ins. Sounds like your way is the most reasonable way to go with.

Thanks.

You're welcome. And for what it's worth, FPPs don't expire so even though those bonuses weren't around in their current form in 2007, if you'd held onto the FPPs from then, you could still cash them in at that value now.

I probably wouldn't have saved them.

But FPP's are worth something, and your way seems to be the best way to calculate a good monetary value for them per unit.
