Change the default positions

Postby pat3392 » Mon May 16, 2011 6:11 pm

I want to create positional stats for my HUD but I don't like how PT3 structures the positions. Is there anyway I can change this?

Not within PT3 at the moment, but I believe this is planned.

You can however update the database table which defines the positions outside PT3, e.g. in PGAdmin.
The database table is "lookup_positions".
If you want to do that I would suggest that you make a Backup of your database first.

Not sure if I follow; will this change the requirements for LP/MP/EP in the HUD?

If you change that table and rebuild the cache, yes that will change the definitions for the HUD.

Are you using PGAdmin?
If you expand the database "PT3 DB", Schemas > public > Tables you should see the lookup_positions table.
To make changes click the grid icon in the toolbar.

I clicked on the pgAdmin III located in the postgreSQL menu(on windows) and don't see anything with that description; would you be able to send me a screen shot?

The red arrow indicates the table you need to change.

In this screenshot the database selected (indicated by the green arrow) is just one of my test databases - yours will probably say "PT3 DB", unless you have created a new database.

tyvm

I found it no problems, but it wasn't obvious what I should change and I don't want to risk buggering it all up. Could you give me some more specif instructions please?

I'm also quite intrigued by this, what else can I configure here? Can I change the $$ measurements from BB to bb? Can I change what stats are presented in the player over view menus?

If you haven't already, please make a Backup before you make any changes, so that you can revert if necessary.

Click the correct icon in the toolbar to open the table for editing.
The table lists combinations of number of players at the table and possible positions for that number of players. Each combination is defined as being in one of the groups of positions (EP, MP, LP, blinds) by having a single TRUE value in one of the flg_ columns. To change the definition of a position you can change the true/false values for a line - keeping a single true value per line.

For example, if you want to change the cut-off (position one) with 5 active players from LP to MP scroll down to the line which has cnt_players = 5 and position = 1.
Change flg_lp to FALSE and flg_mp to TRUE.

Remember to rebuild the cache after you make your changes.
