PT3 PostgreSQL 8.4.9-1

Postby bblong » Sun Nov 27, 2011 7:07 am

Hi Everyone,

I just bought a new computer, installed PT3, copied/paste my processed folder content to the new "Processed" folder.
Installed PostgreSQL 8.4.9-1 Windows. The set up is different from your Installation guide since this version is more recent.
Installation of PostgreSQL said it was successful. But when I try to use PT3, I can't find the folder where to save the hands. There is a 4 step process, step 1 choose the sites, step 2 configure hand histories by selecting location where to save them. How to do ? Did I do anything wrong ? Should have I imported by past database instead of copying the processed folder. I find this install process always so complicated. Why can't the DB install be included in the installation of PT3 and be automatic. It's really a nightmare every time.

Thanks for your help

The location you choose in the configuration pages for each site is the location where the site software (Pokerstars, PartyPoker, etc.) save your hands. It can be pretty much wherever (as long as it isn't the desktop) and it's the place the sites save the hands.

To import your old hands into the current database use the Manual Import (on the Import --> Manual Import tab) Import From Directory button and choose your processed folder. That will reimport all of your old hands into your new database.
