I suspect this may be related to work Josh is doing on PT3 - see
http://www.pokertracker.com/forums/view ... 3&start=10 .
I will concur with the last few posters here: I do feel a small bit of disappointment about the lack of communication. I certainly never expected a patch instantly, as I think that was unrealistic with other issues occuring with PT3, and the fact that this FT change was more than just a HH format change. (I am thrilled that ptrack_pat got an update out as fast as he was able, even if it wasn't 100% perfect. Not bad for a product that is not being actively maintained anymore.) However, it is now a week past the point that Full Tilt "broke" PAH (Unicode-formatted text files... seriously?), but I really feel like we have no clue what is going on here. It is possible that the development work that Josh is doing on PT3 is inter-related to this, and that's great, but a quick note to that effect would put many people's minds at ease here. (Well, except for the uber-impatient, but they just have to suck up and deal.)
Honestly, if I was told "we're working on reading the files, working on memory grabbing names so we can get HUD stats up when you aren't at the table, etc.... this will most likely be a couple of weeks of development work", it would give everybody a feeling that it is (a) being worked on, even if it isn't the first priority, and (b) give everybody a timeline so they can safely say "alright, I'll come back and check in a couple of weeks, instead of obsessively checking this thread a few times a day". :D
And frankly, I think the development team should be willing to say "listen, after
xx-xx-xxxx date, we are no longer going to do updates on PAH for sites that are supported by PT3. This is your official warning. Have you thought about upgrading?" Would make the work they do have to put into maintaining these apps easier if they know there is an end-game in sight for them.
