Notecaddy equivalent features

Postby mager » Sun Mar 18, 2012 1:06 pm

I would like to know if there is an short term plans to produce equivalent features to the one's exist in HEM2 with Notecaddy?

The ability to create badges, i.e. graphical symbols, based on specific criteria's is a significant advantage. Sure it can be made using custom stat but it is VERY complex to create a complex 'badge' and it does not have a graphical symbol.

The real advantage comes with the pop up's specific notes and spark graph's. This thing is THE next thing in the HUD field and gives an advantage that is few steps ahead of a HUD without it.
You no longer need to guess if this player has polarized range or if he is having an extended value range in certain spot, you no longer need to guess if he is min raising as a bluff or to induce more action, you no longer need to guess if he's going for thin value on the river with this bet size, etc. All of this and more is now easily and conveniently displayed.

These features(and more) make the usage of the HUD MUCH more accurate and MUCH more useful. Not having equivalent features will put PT4 WAY behind.
When the usage of these features will become more popular(and it's already starting), you will be in a bad spot if you don't have an equivalent. There is no way around it, this is the next step in the HUD fields.

There are plans to replace the auto rate system, but I don't yet have the details of exactly what is planned.

OK I guess I'll have to be patient and see.
Does the develop team already working on a new system or is it something that will start in the future?

I really hope to see some equivalent features, because this is clearly the future in this field.
It is already picking up momentum with custom definitions, and soon enough anyone who won't use it will just be in clear disadvantage.

I know it's high on our priority list and it's certainly not something that will be forgotten.

Do u mean things like notecaddy sparkgraphs or badges? Do u have any plans to work with notecaddy or you are going to develop analogs on your own? I mean currently your notetracker is way behind and it will be tough to compete with notecaddy atm since they have been working on their software for a very long time. I love everything what you are doing with PT4 except for notetracker. And even though i hate HM2 I will have to use it because of notecaddy features. Really hoping you have some cool solution to this problem. How high it is on your priority list after release is made?

I meant badges.

We are aware they have considerably more development time - but NoteTracker is built in to PT4 at no additional cost, so we hope that fact alone will make us quite a bit more competitive.

Unfortunately I can't comment in more detail on our development priorities beyond saying that right now fixing crashes and known bugs is our current top priority and everything else is taking a bit of a back seat until things are under control.

We respectfully disagree with your assertation, in fact we see NoteTracker as WAY AHEAD of our competitors offerings.

1) NoteTracker is not a NoteCaddy clone. The only thing in common is that that both tools create automated notes for our respective users. The methods of used to take the notes and provide this info to our users is vastly different.

2) NoteTracker is included free in PokerTracker 4 and supports all game types that your PokerTracker 4 license permits, NoteCaddy costs an additional $90 for HEM users for Holdem and Omaha combined.

3) One of the biggest complaints we read during the HEM beta was about NoteCaddy, the testers appeared to not like the inclusion of graphs and the overwhelming amount of data that could make playing in-game very confusing. We learned from these observations, and intentionally designed our NoteTracker to be lightweight initially but include many defaults that can be turned on with the flick of a check box. We know that some people would prefer these graphs in-game, but our research shows that they are in the minority.

4) NoteTracker is VERY powerful due to the use of the simple to use yet much more powerful filters in PokerTracker 4. For example none of our competitors has a hand range selector for pre-flop holdings that includes range modeling, this is necessary to properly note preflop 3 and 4 bet range wars. All this power, yet it is simple enough for the average person to create their own automated notes once they understand how to use our filtering system. Using a tracking tool should not be hard, we create PT to augment your workflow, not encomber your experience.

Of course we want you to be happy, but unfortunatly there are not enough development resources available to create a tool that would appeal to a small minority of our users. We thank you for your understanding, we really have put a lot of thought into deciding the future of NoteTracker, keep in mind you havent seen the complete feature set yet, there is more to come!

There was a typo in my text above, it should read as follows:
