Ability to filter by player type.

Postby bdadavies » Thu Apr 12, 2012 8:39 am

Ability to filter by player type, i.e. to run reports / get stats etc for all players that match a specific criteria (and essentially treat them as one player).

i.e. vpip/pfr/AF/Aggfreq post flop agg etc

You can do something pretty similar to this now - create a report in the My Reports page in the Player section. Have it group by Player and display the default stats.

Click the blue Filters link on the left and uncheck Filter on Active Player.

Then click the Insert link, choose the stat you want and you can add restrictions. So for example

#VPIP# < 20 AND #PFR# > 5 would get you a report containing only people with the appropriate stats. Then you can see the total combined stats averaged over the entire sample in the summary row at the bottom of the report. It won't completely treat them as one player but you can see combined stats for them this way.

Hello

Yeah it sort of filters.

What I ultimately want to achieve is this.

To be able to filter by player type i.e. vpip, pfr etc (which we can sort of do.

Then to be able to filter those results by action, and board type etc. i.e. the player limps PR and then CR postflop

Than to be able to replay those hands.

Right now, when I run reports, I cant actually get to the point where I can replay the hands.. sort of think holdem vision here.

Thanks

If you're looking to replay hands you want a Hands report then. We can build SQL filters that sort of do what you're looking for, but the more complex they get the longer they take and if you're using 3 or 4 of them on a large database you might be waiting hours just for the query to complete.

That said if you want to give it a try you'll want a filter that looks something like this for a hand where a person with VPIP between X and Y raises first in:

cash_hand_player_statistics.id_hand in (SELECT chps.id_hand from cash_hand_player_statistics chps, player p, lookup_actions lookup_actions_p where lookup_actions_p.id_action = chps.id_action_p and p.id_player = chps.id_player and chps.flg_p_first_raise group by p.id_player HAVING (((( (CASE WHEN ( ((sum((case when(chps.id_hand > 0) then 1 else 0 end))) - (sum((case when(lookup_actions_p.action = '') then 1 else 0 end))))) <> 0 THEN (((sum((case when(chps.flg_vpip) then 1 else 0 end))) * 1.0 )/( ((sum((case when(chps.id_hand > 0) then 1 else 0 end))) - (sum((case when(lookup_actions_p.action = '') then 1 else 0 end)))))) ELSE 0 END) ) * 100) BETWEEN X and Y))

This code goes in the blue Filter link. If you want hands you were involved in you can keep Filter on Active Player there.

Thanks

Id def like to give that a try.

I created a new hands report and simply copied and pasted in the above text to the blue filter. Got a message saying it was invalid. Changed the bolded part so that x and y were 10 and 30 and still got an invalid error message.

What am I doing wrong?

That was my fault - I missed a small piece.

This will work:

cash_hand_player_statistics.id_hand in (SELECT chps.id_hand from cash_hand_player_statistics chps, player p, lookup_actions lookup_actions_p where lookup_actions_p.id_action = chps.id_action_p and p.id_player = chps.id_player and chps.flg_p_first_raise group by chps.id_hand, p.id_player HAVING (((( (CASE WHEN ( ((sum((case when(chps.id_hand > 0) then 1 else 0 end))) - (sum((case when(lookup_actions_p.action = '') then 1 else 0 end))))) <> 0 THEN (((sum((case when(chps.flg_vpip) then 1 else 0 end))) * 1.0 )/( ((sum((case when(chps.id_hand > 0) then 1 else 0 end))) - (sum((case when(lookup_actions_p.action = '') then 1 else 0 end)))))) ELSE 0 END) ) * 100) BETWEEN X and Y)))

Thats pretty cool

Any chance of getting some kind of gui together that resembles the kind of filtering holdem vision can do?

PT4 is obviously capable of doing the job, but I don't think I would be able to put together queries like that myself.

Eventually I hope so - one downside is that these queries can take a very long time to run, especially if you start laying more than one of them on, so it may be a while before we can get performance to a level we are happy with before implementing this kind of functionality.
